Tamika D. Mallory is a bestselling author, award-winning social justice leader, and movement strategist. As co-founder of Until Freedom, she has led major justice campaigns across the country, from fighting voter suppression to advocating for Breonna Taylor. The youngest-ever Executive Director of the National Action Network, she helped establish New York City’s $100 million Crisis Management System to address gun violence.
A national co-chair of the historic 2017 Women’s March, Tamika’s powerful leadership has shaped modern movement strategy. Her viral 2020 speech during the George Floyd protests became the foundation for her bestselling book State of Emergency: How We Win in the Country We Built. In 2025, she released I Lived to Tell the Story, a deeply personal coming-of-age memoir tracing her journey from Harlem to international advocacy.
