After decades in the fast pace of New York City, Brett and Yvonna Kopacz-Wright decided to take a leap—one that would completely transform their family’s way of life. The couple, both deeply rooted in creativity and culture, left their beloved Harlem brownstone in search of something simpler, more grounded, and more connected to nature. Their search led them to an unexpected treasure: a nearly 200-year-old farmhouse on five acres of land, just 20 miles outside the city.
What began as a home renovation project quickly blossomed into something far greater. Inspired by the documentary More Than Honey, the Wrights turned their curiosity about sustainability into a passion for beekeeping—and Lomar Farms was born, named after their daughters, Lola and Marley.
Brett, a visionary entrepreneur and co-founder of Uptown Magazine, was drawn to the business and branding side of running a farm. Yvonna, a celebrated actress known for her roles on Law & Order: SVU, Blue Bloods, and FBI: Most Wanted, found peace in the land itself—especially in the old barn she dreams of turning into a yoga studio and community theater.
