Danessa Myricks

Danessa Myricks is a self-made beauty visionary whose impact runs deep across artistry, inclusivity, and innovation. Originally a nursing assistant turned single mom, Danessa’s pivot into makeup artistry began when she was laid off from a job that published hair and beauty magazines. Driven by passion, she self-educated in makeup techniques, photography, and product science — ultimately turning her creativity into a career.

In 2015, Danessa founded Danessa Myricks Beauty, a brand built on high-performance, multi-use cosmetics that celebrate all skin tones. She’s developed standout products like Colorfix 24-Hour Cream Color, Dew Wet balm, and dramatic chrome palettes. Also, self-funded and grassroots-driven, she relied on Instagram tutorials rather than traditional advertising opportunities. By 2021, her brand was carried by Sephora, fulfilling her mission of inclusive beauty Danessa is passionate about representation; at age 50+, she shares her own journey through on-camera makeup tutorials to model confidence and inclusivity.

She also runs Danessa Myricks University, offering global masterclasses and mentorship for makeup artists. She created this program to empower others to find their voice and confidence through the art of makeup.

Danessa’s rise—from crafting makeup in her basement to leading a beloved global beauty brand—is a testament to vision, grit, and creative excellence.
