Britton Smith

Tony Award-winning advocate and artist Britton Smith bridges performance, activism, and community empowerment. As co-founder of the Broadway Advocacy Coalition (BAC) and co-author of the Theater of Change methodology at Columbia Law School, he uses storytelling to challenge systemic injustice.

As frontman of Britton & The Sting, a funk liberation band, he spreads queer holiness and authenticity as medicine, performing at venues like The Apollo, The Public Theater, and touring from New York to the South and Germany. His latest project, MAMA, a concept album and theatrical experience originally commissioned by Little Island, explores our sacred connection to water. On March 24, 2025, he led NYC's first World Water Day concert at the Gramercy Theater—uniting scientists, advocates, and artists to restore our relationship with water.

On Broadway, he has starred in Be More Chill, Shuffle Along, and After Midnight, using his platform to inspire joy, liberation, and change.
